PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Pine Bluff wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield committed to Missouri on Tuesday.
The four-star recruit from the 2024 class chose the Tigers over Arkansas, LSU and Auburn during a signing at Pine Bluff High School.
"I feel like [Missouri] is a better fit," Crutchfield said. "When I look at their receiver depth chart, they don't really have that many receivers, and I just know that with me and my mindset, I can go and play as a true freshman."
Crutchfield, 6-2, 175 pounds, tallied over 700 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns while helping the Zebras claim the 5A-Central championship this past season.
"First and foremost, I want to go down there and learn from one of the best receivers in college football, my boy Mookie [Cooper]," Crutchfield said. "I feel like if they take me under their wing, I'll be a great addition to their organization."
Initially, Crutchfield verbally committed to the Razorbacks on April 21 before backing out on Nov. 4 to rethink his future.
According to 247Sports' composite rankings, Crutchfield is Arkansas's No. 2 overall recruit for the 2024 class and No. 24 wide receiver in the country.
"When I went down there on my last visit, they made me feel like I was at home," Crutchfield said. "All the love from the coaches and the coaching staff, there was a great vibe the whole weekend. I like it up there a lot."
With Crutchfield's announcement, three of the top nine high school football players in Arkansas are heading to Missouri next season.
