LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Pulaski County Clerk Terri Hollingsworth answered some of the most asked questions about what Arkansas voters can and can't do when voting.
Can you wear political shirts or clothing when you vote?
"People cannot wear political shirts [or] clothing when they go in there to vote," Hollingsworth said. "It cannot say 'Vote for THV' or it cannot say 'Vote for Terri Hollingsworth.' It could probably say 'Go Vote' but not a political party or stance or anything like that."
Can you bring your phone into the voting booth with you?
Hollingsworth said people can bring their phones while they vote. They can also bring a sample ballot or a cheat sheet with them.
However, election materials, like political mailers, are not allowed. Firearms are also prohibited inside the building, even if you have a concealed carry permit.
If you're voting and the machine is acting strangely or you have a question, what should you do?
"You should definitely talk to the poll workers at the polling site," Hollingsworth said. "That's what they are there for, to help you with that particular process, and if you need help with your machine... that poll worker is certainly there to help you do those things."
Can a poll worker write on your ballot?
"The law certainly says the poll worker has to put their initials on the back because it verifies that that ballot is being used," Hollingsworth said. "Now, nothing else should be on there."
