FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas punter Max Fletcher has entered the transfer portal, paving the way for redshirt junior Devin Bale to assume the starting job in 2024.
Fletcher, who booted 59 punts for an SEC-leading 2,770 yards last season, was the first Razorback punter to receive All-SEC recognition since Dylan Breeding in 2012.
The second-teamer ranked fourth in the conference in yards per punt (46.9), pinning a fourth-best 19 punts inside the 20-yard line. Fletcher boomed 23 punts for 50+ yards in 2023, including four punts for 60+ yards and a career-long 71-yard punt vs. Auburn.
In 97 attempts over the past two seasons, Fletcher averaged 43.2 yards and pinned 33 punts inside the 20.
Previously, Fletcher announced on December 5, 2023, that he would return to Arkansas for the 2024 season.
On3Sports ranks the Melbourne, Australia, product as a three-star transfer portal prospect and the No. 21 punter available.
